Huh. Two days in a row with pretty damn good mixes on the way to work. El Borracho is truly kind and giving this week. ;)

  • Horrorpops - Hitchcock Starlett (A track off of the new Horrorpops album. It can be dicey at times, but I really like their brand of grrrly rockabilly.)

  • Anthrax - Got The Time (A catchy Anthrax song with their usual "no time for love, Dr. Jones!" mentality. Oh, you know what I mean... Right?)

  • Lush - Untogether (Hm. Can never have enough Lush in one's daily listening regimen. Yep yep.)

  • Schoolyard Heroes - Sometimes They Come Back (My Gods, Ryann Donnelly has a set of pipes on her. The music is awesome, but her vocals knock you on your ass. Good, good stuff...)

  • Cold - Ocean (OK, so I like Cold. Granted this track is probably the best song off of their worst album [A Different Kind Of Pain], but I liked all their albums before this one. Pretty good live too, though being crushed under the crowd every time they played "Send In The Clowns" got a bit old after awhile...)

To wrap up the trilogy, we have the chapter that I compiled back in early November. This one I've listened to quite extensively since I put it together, just because I've had quite a few things about my life and the past year crashing through my head, and this volume of the trilogy pretty much sums up all of it. Now to muster the resolve to finally face some of it and finally get on with moving on past all of my mental and emotional hang-ups. That will be the trick... Guess I have my first New Years' resolution, ay? ;)

Well, it's the last Friday before Christmas, and all through the archives of WIGD came gifts of plenty for you, the faithful readers! (OK, well, all 13 or 14 of you, but I still appreciate it!)

First off, I bring you Bear McCreary's excellent soundtrack to Battlestar Galactica's 3rd season (1, 2), and the first Bif Naked album I ever listened to. Good stuff maynard.

Aimee Allen: too sassy for her own good.

I fear that Talkie Walkie may have ruined all other Air albums for me.

To say that I was "giddy" to hear this in a recent episode of Grey's Anatomy may not cover it effectively.

Well, since that whole Christmas holiday is just around the corner, why not share some Christmas music? Well, you know me: I can't let y'all listen to the "same old, same old", not even the Trans-Siberian Orchestra...
The Ataris - Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis
Axl Rose - White Christmas
Cocteau Twins - Frosty The Snowman
Brand New - O Holy Night
Little Stinkers - I Farted On Santa's Lap

...And this week's mid-90's one hit wonder is...

I bitch about it getting stuck in my head so often, I need to share the disease with the rest of you.

Two of my good friends (both also named Matt) recently introduced me to this song. KICK. ASS.

Everytime I hear this track I want to relive my rave days... All four months of it. *snicker*

It's Friday, so that means... More covers!!!! (The Paolo is for my friend Lore, 'cause I know she'll punch me in the arm for it...)
30 Seconds To Mars - Hunter (Bjork cover)
Aimee Mann - The Scientist (Coldplay cover)
Editors - Lullaby (The Cure cover)
Gossip - Careless Whisper (George Michael cover)
Klaxons - No Diggity (Blackstreet cover)
My Chemical Romance - Song 2 (Blur cover)
Natasha Bedingfield - Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol cover)
Paolo Nutini - Rehab (Amy Winehouse cover)
Stereophonics - You Sexy Thing (Hot Chocolate cover)

This song is just great, period. No question.

Right then! Happy Holidays everyone!
